What you'll be doing:
The Finance Automation and Optimization team is looking for a Sr Analyst I Financial Analytics to work directly with functional leaders in various areas of Finance, including Order to Cash, Accounts Payable, Corporate Accounting and Supply Chain FP&A, to enable and support Staples growth and continuous improvement through data-driven actionable insights and analytics. This role is part of a team of cross trained associates who can cover one another for PTO etc.

The Sr Analyst I Financial Analytics works with multiple stakeholders to ensure we maintain and improve on our success via actionable analytics, reporting solutions, and tools like Alteryx, Python, SQL Server Management and Tableau/Power BI. The Sr Analyst I will combine data sets across multiple data sources and deliver solutions in a useful and appealing manner to the end users, in ways that are universally understandable or easy to interpret and spot patterns, trends and correlations. It's all in the data - the analyst's work will ensure that customers are connected with relevant insights in a contextual form at the right time.

Self- starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including working with large data sets
Work closely with leadership in both finance and business teams in creation of business and financial insights, automating and improving processes
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Innovative mindset to surface and advocate for alternate approaches and solutions to business and technology challenges
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience in transforming raw data into actionable information
Ability to communicate effectively to technical and business audiences
Ability to assess manual processes and automate/streamline utilizing various technologies


Qualifications : What's needed- Basic Qualifications
* 1 - 3 years working experience in analytical tools (SQL, Alteryx, Python)

What's needed- Preferred Qualifications
* Database management and structure experience
* Hands on SQL experience, blending data from multiple data sources
* Experience in statistical packages including Python
* Experience in an analytics or finance related field
* Familiar with machine learning concepts and their implementation
* Experience with AS400 systems, Oracle, and Snowflake.
