40420Key AccountabilitiesLead the identification and formulation of
strategic initiatives specific to electrical transmission line
assets; Develop informed, comprehensive technical asset plans for
maintenance and capital investment in order to improve business
performance in the medium (up to five years) and longer term (up to
15 years). -Lead interdisciplinary technical teams to evaluate
solution options and develop project scopes, cost estimates and
project schedules applying National Grid's Project Playbook
process. Recommend asset condition-based capital projects to
internal National Grid management to obtain Delegation of Authority
and seek approval from external stakeholders as part of the New
England open access planning process. Develop and implement
processes, tools and documentation for Transmission Planning &
Asset Management to maintain compliance with ISO (Independent
System Operator) New England rules/policies, NPCC
Criteria/Directories, NERC Standards, and FERC (Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission) Orders. -Support or lead development of
technical policies relating to electrical transmission assets and
provide authoritative advice in order to support the realization of
National Grid objectives. Research new technologies, investigate
implementation strategies, and drive the conceptual development of
innovative projects/solutions. Tools used: -Microsoft Office 2019
suite, Cascade, IDS, PL/SQL, MATLAB, PowerWorld simulator,
Electrical AutoCAD, Etap - -QualificationsMaster's degree in
Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, or foreign
equivalent degree. Three years of related experience in analyzing
complex data on distribution and transmission performance,
calculating reliability metrics for electric distribution systems,
e.g. System Average Interruption (SAIFI), System Average
Interruption Frequency Index (SAIDI), and Customer Average
Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI); conducting analytical studies
on reliability of the electric transmission, substation and
distribution systems; experience with application of national and
regional transmission planning standards, ISO and New England
Regional System Planning Process, and performing transmission
planning analyses using Cascade, IDS, PL/SQL, MATLAB, PowerWorld
simulator, Electrical AutoCAD, Etap. -Field visits are required
during project scope development; Supporting storm restoration
efforts may involve working day or night shifts depending on the
staffing needs.
