Come be a part of a team that's leading the way in a new era of working and learning.**Summary of Core Responsibilities:**This position is an integral component of the Merchandising department, reporting to the Associate Director (ADMM) for Computing. This role has two main objectives - Operations/project management and performance management, which it delivers through strong cross-functional partnership between the Staples Business Units (Merchandising, POG, Promo, Store Operations and Marketing).+ Define initiatives in partnership with the business owners+ Collaborate with business owners and cross-functional partners to create a unified strategy, project plans, and implementation timelines+ Work with team to identify and implement new strategic initiatives targeted towards driving sales and margin growth+ Use strong analytical and financial skills to ensure initiatives and resource needs will align with expected return on investment+ Develop understanding of all key performance metrics related to sales, adjusted margin, and inventory management+ Monitor ongoing performance for initiatives relative to financial goals+ Develop and project manage short-term plans for mitigating risks and address opportunities+ Drive cross functional leadership to execute changes in strategy based on recommendations**Communication/Interactions: Internal & External Customers** **:**+ Engage regularly with external vendors+ Provide summaries of planned vs actual budget and activity with YoY views, supplying needs for seasonal reporting as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly trackers+ Respond to requests from internal stakeholders regarding various activity, YOY changes and impact+ Communication weekly with vendor partners and daily with Staples the Office Superstore, LLC internal stakeholders+ Assist in training internal and external customers on new product launches, key marching orders, and key marketing initiatives**Trends, Themes, and the Competition:**+ With direction from manager, conduct market research, gather industry data, track trends, themes, competitive shopping to assist with item selection+ Review competitors store and online experiences for product ideas and offers**Qualifications****Preferred skills and experience:**+ Merchandising experience with strong financial acumen and data analysis+ Aggressive and proactive attitude to solve problems and win at all levels+ Intermediate to Advanced in Microsoft Suite+ Excellent time management skills, Able to multi-task priorities+ Capability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment+ Ability to work independently and execute across multiple groups+ Good verbal and written communication skills necessary+ Organized, proactive personality, ability to multi-task**Essential skills and experience:**+ Bachelor's degree required**Get great perks because, you matter.**+ Generous amount of paid time off and bonus plan+ 401(k) plan with a company match, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, and many more benefits+ Associate store discount and more perks (discounts on mobile plans, movie tickets, etc.)**Want to learn more about Staples Stores?** Visit **StaplesConnect.com** for information and to learn about our career opportunities.\#LI-ML1**_Click to learn more about the employee benefits, programs and perks offered at Staples.
