Job Description:
This position resides within the BioProcess Analytics group
which is part of the Global CMC Development organization at Sanofi,
Framingham, MA. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary
team providing analytical support to a strong pipeline of R&D
programs within Sanofi during early and late stage process
development.We are looking for a skilled, highly motivated
individual with expertise in biology/biochemistry who works well in
a team-setting to meet project and development goals within
established timelines. The Principal Research Associate will be
part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on multiple projects to
support development and optimization of novel analytical methods,
including some routine testing, for R&D programs within Sanofi.
The ideal candidate is required to have significant industry
experience with analysis and characterization of biologic
therapeutic protein products using a variety of analytical methods
and capable of mentoring more junior members of the team.Key
Responsibilities:Support development of cutting-edge technologies
and analytical method platforms such as ELISA and other binding
assays, impurity assays (e.g. residual DNA, Host Cell Protein) as
well as other novel techniquesProvide analytical testing support in
a variety of testing platforms, in a non-GMP setting, supporting
R&D Biologics Development.Manage work assignments, analyze and
interpret test results, and conduct necessary troubleshooting under
the supervision of the manager.Write technical reports, study
protocols, and results and effectively communicate progress and
results with the team.Provide training and lab supervision of
junior analysts and additional operators in analytical methods
transfer, implementation, execution and documentation.Maintain good
communication and collaboration with internal colleagues.Basic
QualificationsMaster's degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related
discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry
experience or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of
relevant industry experience.Hands-on experience including but not
limited to nucleic acid extraction, qPCR and ELISA-based
immunoassays.Hands-on experience in data processing software such
as Softmax, AccuSEQ, and QuantStudio.Knowledge of GxPs, ICH/USP
guidelines, regulations and procedures.Experience working
independently with multidisciplinary teams in a matrix
environment.Well-organized, strong scientific curiosity,
self-motivated, hard-working and detail-oriented individual able to
work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as
independently.Industrial experience working in a
biotechnology/pharmaceutical company with a sound understanding of
protein therapeutic process development.Excellent written and oral
communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Strong technical
background in qPCR, ELISA and/or other binding assays.Assay
development and qualification in a non-GMP setting.Experience in
automated liquid handling a plus.Experience in HPLC/UPLC, CE-SDS
