Department Description:Purification Process Development, part of
Sanofi R&D, is responsible for the development, scale-up,
transfer, and characterization of downstream processes for early
and late-stage clinical and commercial manufacturing of therapeutic
proteins. In addition, the department develops next-generation
commercial processes, develops and implements new technologies, and
supports and updates our global purification platform. The
department also has particular expertise in the area of integrated
and continuous bioprocessing and is actively working toward the
advancement of this field.Job Responsibilities:We are looking for
candidates for the position of Senior Research Associate. This
individual will join a dynamic and motivated team to develop
downstream purification processes in support of early and late
stage drug development programs. In addition, the Senior Research
Associate will support the tech transfer of the developed process
into the clinical manufacturing team or Industrial Affairs
organization, while ensuring the highest standards of safety,
environmental, and regulatory compliance are maintained in the
workplace.Responsibilities include:Plan and execute purification
experiments using high throughput, benchtop, and/or pilot scale
chromatography and filtration systemsIndependently document
experimental results in technical reports and present results at
departmental meetingsWork with supervisor to design purification
studies and perform data analysisWork with supervisor to evaluate
new technologies to enhance purification process performance or
development capabilitiesDevelop, maintain, and demonstrate
knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques in areas of
responsibilityStay abreast of relevant new technologies and
published literature, including attending technical forumsMaintain
good communication and collaboration with colleagues in
Purification Process Development, as well as other departmentsBasic
Qualifications:Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical
Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline or a Bachelor's
degree with the same and a minimum of 2 years of relevant
experienceMust have permanent US Work AuthorizationPreferred
Qualifications:Relevant laboratory experience operating and
maintaining purification equipment (e.g. AKTA, Tecan,
ultrafiltration/diafiltration)Experience with statistical analysis
and modelingAn understanding of scientific principles underlying
purification technologies and operationsExcellent planning,
organization, and communication skillsLogical and critical thinking
skills, as well as innovative problem solvingAbility to work
independently and also function in a
matrix/collaborative/team-oriented environmentHigh level of
