Job Description We are looking for a candidate that enjoys and excels at developing compelling application software for embedded systems specifically wearable products. Come be part of Bose Consumer Electronics Division and help create products that wow consumers and you can be proud to show off to your friends and family. Specifically, we are looking for an individual who will work as part of our wearables software development teams to design and integrate new technologies in to both legacy and a new generation headphones, glasses, and open ear products. This will include working on the full stack embedded code. You'll work with colleagues in the cloud, and mobile app teams as well as electrical engineers and other engineering disciplines. Participate as a team member in a small embedded software team that is part of a larger group. Develop software for embedded systems including all aspects of the software life cycle. Design, documentation, implementation, test driven development and bug fixing. Participate in daily scrums and be a strong team player. Write unit, component, integration and system automation testing. Key Responsibilities: Build platforms by architecting reusable building blocks and enabling faster and more efficient product creation. Experience in designing and implementing state machines and event driven systems. Experience with developing complex embedded software in a resource limited RTOS based system. Strong programming skills in C and good understanding of OO concepts and basic C++ Strong experience with one scripting language like Python, Perl or Shell Integrate technologies like Bluetooth, NFC, and WiFi to build a cohesive product Familiarity with Hardware interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, ADC, Bootloader etc preferred Debugging and root cause analysis in a complex embedded SW environment. Practical knowledge of Version Control, Bug Tracking and Change Management. Experience is writing embedded code including cross compilation, JTAG debugging, flashing tools and program/debug FW using IDEs and associated tools. Be a strong verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related equivalent degree. MSCS or MSEE is strongly desirable. Very Strong Industry candidates that have a proven track record will also be considered. Have at least 3-5 years of industry experience of going through the SW development lifecycle (development, release and maintenance) of at least one product.
