Job Description Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Solar PV Development Engineer based out of our Corporate Office in Framingham, MA. Responsibilities Collaborate with Project Engineers and Development Managers to provide project support for development, design and cost estimation activities; Visit project sites to assess and document site dimensions, electrical systems, PV array location and utility interconnection options; Gather key project technical data such as site structure and electrical drawings and site electricity load data and costs; Prepare Solar PV layouts and Electrical one-line diagrams in Auto CAD; Perform system energy modeling and energy estimates using software estimating tools; Prepare and submit utility interconnection applications and permits, as required; Prepare project cost estimating sheets; Assist Project Development Managers with technical aspects and drawings for proposals, contracts and customer presentations; Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes; Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout project phases; and Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree in Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience acting in Solar PV and/or Energy Storage commercial development or a generally related construction development process including: project development, design and engineering, and construction of energy generation projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, Helioscope and PV SYST. Understanding of NEC and other applicable codes pertaining to commercial Solar PV. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Professional Certifications and/or advanced degree viewed as favorable for position requirements (PE, MBA, CEM, NABCEP, EIT, PMP) Demonstrated knowledge and experience deploying Energy Storage Systems, specifically Li-ion behind the meter solutions. Demonstrated ability to interact and work with multi-functional teams including: sales, customers, equipment vendors, multi discipline engineers, and utilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal. Advanced proficiency in drafting and Microsoft applications, to include: AutoCAD, Google Sketchup, MS Excel and MS Project. Advanced proficiency in Solar PV and Energy Storage software modeling applications, to include: Energy Toolbase, GELI, Pason, PV Syst, SAM, Helioscope and SunDAT. Demonstrated ability to correctly solve complex problems and issues without regular supervision. Demonstrated experience working in complex jurisdictional or utility environments. Experience working through commercial Solar PV and/or Energy Storage utility interconnection. Experience working in EPC (engineer, procure, construct), or PPA (power purchase agreement) environment a plus. Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
