As a member of SMOC’s Senior Management Team, the Senior Director of SMOC's Energy and Financial Assistance Division is a key contributor in the development and achievement of the organization’s mission, strategic and business objectives. The Senior Director of SMOC's Energy and Financial Assistance Division is principally responsible for the overall design, implementation, and successful administration of the following programs: Rental Assistance, Fuel Assistance, Energy Conservation Services, Green Jobs Academy, Home Modification Loan Program, and SMOC Financial Services. This is a core position reporting directly to the Executive Director.. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES. • Support Executive Director’s vision.. • Evaluate organizational structure to align with SMOC’s growth strategy and the Executive Director’s expectations.. • Work in partnership with senior leadership to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals for the company’s existing and future growth.. • Direct and evaluate all operations and staff functions of assigned divisions.. • Develop and maintain a skilled and knowledgeable management team capable of effectively collaborating with internal departments, external agencies, and funding sources.. • Provide oversight to ensure efficient management of fiscal and administrative processes for assigned divisions. • Manage and improve efficiencies by utilizing fiscal reports and controls.. • Initiate and maintain internal and external communication with staff, funders, regulators, and communities. • Monitor production and quality of performance for all grants and contracts, reporting as required to fudning sources and Executive Director.. • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the program/department to include: staffing levels, budgets, financial goals, and contract compliance. Serve as the point person on budgetary matters throughout the programs assigned in this division.. • Recruit, manage, develop and evaluate staff by providing timely mentoring, training and performance management. Complete required paperwork in accordance with company policy.. • Implement training best practices and ensure staffing and development for assigned divisions. • Partner and lead initiatives as appropriate set into action by the Executive Director and CFO. Work closely with the Senior Director of Human Resources to optimally manage our human assets.. • Endeavor to create a climate in which all residents are empowered, respected and treated with dignity.. • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work. • Attend& participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.. • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.. • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies& procedures.. • Other duties as assigned.. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS. • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. • Emphasis in nonprofit management. • 7 plus years of senior leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting, in a responsible position in program/ project management or contract administration. • Above average communication skills both verbal and written. • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to employees, Board of Directors and Key stakeholders.. • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and educationally diverse staff and clients. • Sound judgement and ability to take initiative. • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in contemporary operating systems. • Knowledge of governmental regulations and budget compliance and reporting requirements. • Must maintain the following certifications:. • -HCV Executive Management Certification. • -Fair Housing& Reasonable Accommodations Certification. • -HCV Financial Management Certification. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS. • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP. • Directly reports to Executive Director. • Direct reports of this position are Rental Assistance Program Director, Fuel Assistance Director, Green Jobs Academy Program Manager, Weatherization Program Technical Manager, Administrative Manager-Energy Conservation Services, HMLP Manager.. • Indirect reports of this position are .. WORKING CONDITIONS. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
