Job Description:

DESCRIPTION: • Provide direct interaction with team members involved in shipping. Assisting and guiding employees on issues related to the shipping department. • Ensure deadlines are met, adhere to company policies and procedures, and responsible for employee training. • Records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. • Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items. • Puts identifying information on containers, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against travelers or other records. • Assemble/coordinate wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. • Attach Bills of Lading to shipping containers. • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. • Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management. • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. • Responsible for cleanliness of work area and the general housekeeping of the Company. • Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED). • 2 years of experience required. • General computer knowledge. • High degree of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence persons in all types of positions required. • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. • Work with minimum supervision and strong problem-solving skills. • Must understand and have good packaging knowledge of products.
