looking for an experienced attorney to join our team of business
lawyers providing legal support for consumer product, technology,
and regulatory matters. This attorney will partner closely with our
product, engineering, procurement, IP, and compliance teams to
advance Bose’s consumer product businesses. They will provide
timely and practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment, with
careful balancing of risks in light of commercial and strategic
goals. Main responsibilities include drafting, review and
negotiation of various types of contracts; regulatory monitoring,
interpretation and advising on designated compliance topics;
implementing various legal processes in business operations; and
general legal counseling across multiple teams. Ideal candidates
will have significant experience in drafting and negotiating
complex commercial agreements, including agreements with
significant IP implications such as joint development agreements or
technology transfer agreements. They will have experience
identifying, interpreting and advising on global regulatory
requirements. They will be skilled at helping business teams
navigate novel legal and business requirements. They will have
experience working with B2C business models and related legal
issues. They will be tech-savvy and tech-interested. They will have
experience in assessing risk and influencing outcomes that
appropriately balance risk mitigation with business objectives.
They will be strong, clear communicators who exhibit tenacity and
grit in the face of challenging situations. They will be interested
in the operational and execution activities of the transactions on
which they work. They will have excellent attention to detail,
especially in ensuring accuracy of complicated regulatory regimes
and contract provisions. They will be intellectually curious,
patient and practical problem solvers who maintain big-picture
perspective while managing day-to-day business needs. Areas of
Focus: Issue spot and advise product management teams on legal
issues related to new product concepts and features. Maintain
updated knowledge of legal and regulatory developments that are
relevant to consumer electronics businesses . Understand the
requirements, be capable of issue spotting, and support the
business as needed to ensure compliance . Advise and counsel
engineering teams on legal matters relating to co-development and
outsourced development activities, including the optimal
structuring of relationships, risk assessment and management, and
dispute resolution. Draft, negotiate and review agreements relating
to product and technology development and services , securing
desired business terms and legal protections. Review B2C
advertising claims and advise teams on related
truth-in-advertising, substantiation, and consumer protection
requirements. Provide legal guidance and thought leadership on
matters relating to products liability and product safety incident
management. Develop and implement contract templates, playbooks and
related processes to achieve efficiencies and best practices in
contracting activities that support business operations and goals.
Establish and build good working relationships with internal
clients and senior leaders, based on mutual trust and respect, as
well as knowledge of the company’s business and goals. Experience
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school and
admission to at least one U.S. state bar required Minimum of 5
years' experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
focusing on matters relating to complex commercial agreements and
regulatory counseling Robust experience drafting and negotiating
complex, high-volume contracts, especially product and technology
related agreements Experience researching and effectively
communicating global regulatory requirements; ability to synthesize
requirements and support the business in implementing processes to
ensure compliance Strong familiarity with technology, ideally
consumer electronics hardware and software Understanding of the
workings of various contract structures and business models, and
how they drive business outcomes Experience managing outside
counsel in multiple jurisdictions Additional experience preferred,
but not required: M&A experience; direct-to-consumer business
experience; engineering background or similar technical training or

location, and goes beyond base salary. The hiring range for this
position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts
is: $172,000-$236,500.The hiring range for other Bose work
