Job DescriptionDPP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a project with our client in Framingham, Massachusetts. This role is open to remote, if the candidate is able to work Eastern time zone hours. The project:The Order Lifecycle Systems team enables scalable, efficient, and intelligent order and delivery solutions, and exceptional customer experience through our expertise in business domains and technologies.The Software Engineer will work with technical teams to build and maintain a scalable platform for the client's Transportation Network.The Senior Software engineer will design and develop the new Last Mile Platform from the ground up. You will apply distributed computing to design and implement system architectures that are highly scalable, highly available and fully fault tolerant. You will collaborate with cross functional teams working with cutting edge technologies. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about applying technology to delight customers and improving business outcomes. What you'll be doing:Design algorithms and develop applications in areas of transportation systemsWork across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growthUtilize and promote cloud-first approach, event driven architecture.Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application designWork closely with product management and program management to derive application requirements, set expectations, and communicate progressAdopt to fast-paced iterative development, CI/CD, testing and deployment. Required qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experienceSolid programming skills in Enterprise Java frameworks implementing microservices and applying object-oriented principles for application designUnderstanding of operating distributed data systems at scale such as event-driven solutions, lambda services, etc.Expertise building scalable implementations with modern data processing frameworks and relational databasesKnowledge of professional software engineering practices throughout the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Preferred qualifications:Expertise developing highly reliable, fault-tolerant distributed applications with low latency and high throughput requirements in public CloudSubscribe to fast-paced Agile principles with technical designs, iterative development, code reviews, and ability to quickly leverage a wide variety of upstream open-source developmentKeen attention to detail, ability to dive deep, and expert problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills Technology stack:Java 8+Spring BootOracleMySQLPostgresKafkaCouchbaseApache SparkNetflix OSSLinuxMicrosoft Azure Interested?
