in Salem, Massachusetts, 01970! Job Title: ICU RN Profession:
Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of
continuous Intensive Care Unit experience required License: Active
RN License in Massachusetts Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have:
Must be able to read telemetry strips Description: Nights and every
other weekend required with 36 or 48 hours guaranteed. 2 years of
continuous Intensive Care Unit experience is required. Candidates
must be able to read telemetry strips. The unit is a Level III
Trauma Center and includes a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
The ICU has a total of 20 beds. The facility cares for a wide range
of adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse, severe
psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure,
cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attending
physicians and residents are present in the unit 24 hours a day.
Floating to medical/surgical units is required, with a patient load
of up to 4 or 5 patients when floated. Telemetry competency is
required. Shifts may rotate among day positions; however, night
shift will not rotate. The RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 with
high acuity patients, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other units.
The facility uses an electronic medical record charting system. 5
