clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for
assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned
patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is
responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is
delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high
quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical
staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
/n Has effective interpersonal and communication skills and ability
to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline
of nursing. /n Pediatric Registered Nurse /n Busy outpatient
pediatric primary care practice located at MWMC looking for
per-diem Pediatric Registered Nurse /n Pediatric Nurse
Responsibilities: /n Phone triage and direct patient care. /n
Working with children and asking questions about their health for
diagnosis and documenting patients' symptoms and medical history
for the doctor. /n Assessing a child's needs and providing initial
care. /n Identifying changes in children's symptoms and intervening
in emergency situations. /n Administering medications and giving
childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines. /n
Monitoring temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and
keeping accurate records. /n Maintain accurate growth chart and
head circumference. /n Perform vison and hearing screening. /n
Administer nebulizer treatment’s. /n Perform catherization’s. /n
Collect specimens. /n Perform urinalysis, pregnancy test and
cultures. /n Evaluating children for signs and symptoms of abuse.
/n Dealing with the anxieties and demands of parents, and helping
families to deal with their child's illness or injury. /n Remaining
up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations,
vaccine updates, equipment, and treatment procedures. /n Work with
the state of Massachusetts on managing and order vaccines for
Vaccines for Children (VFC). /n The Massachusetts Immunization
Information System (MIIS) is a web-based immunization registry. /n
Work closely with DCF. /n Work closely with schools /n Perform
various administrative duties. /n Qualifications: /n Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an
accredited school. Preferred: Academic degree in nursing
(bachelor's or master's degree). /n Certifications: Required:
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession
as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
