Bethany Hill Place seeks a mission driven leader with a commitment

Bethany Hill Place is designed for individuals and families to
build financial stability, increase parenting knowledge, support
health and well-being, create social connectedness, and build youth
social, academic, and leadership skills. With a history and
commitment to racial and social justice, Bethany Hill Place has
served over 1,000 individuals since opening its doors is 1994 and
was awarded a 10 year 'Sustaining Grant' from the Cummings
Foundation in 2019.
Bethany Hill Place is a mission driven non-sectarian 501c3
organization sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston
(CSJ). Located in Framingham, MA, Bethany Hill Place ($1.3M) offers
affordable housing (through 42 mixed-use units) to approximately
120 adults and children annually. The organization is led by an
executive director who oversees a team of five members and 30
volunteers. There is also a long-standing property management
vendor who manages the facilities. Bethany Hill Place is governed
by a separate 20-member Board of Trustees representing a cross
section of the educational, business, and nonprofit sectors.
Responsibilities
OPPORTUNITY
This is a unique opportunity for an individual with experience
leading mission driven organizations and committed to working in
partnership with residents of all ages who have experienced past
trauma and/or identify as part of traditionally under-resourced
communities to build long-term success. Bethany Hill Place offers a
compelling mission, unique housing model rooted in the values of
the founding congregation, and a distinctive community of people
who are empowered to transform their lives.
The Executive Director provides the leadership of the organization
and vision to empower residents to develop skills, strengthen their
lives, and create self-sufficient futures. Reporting to the Board
of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for the
educational living community and affiliated programming; oversight
and management of the affordable housing units, in partnership with
the property management company; management and development of
staff and volunteers; operations and administration, as shared with
CSJ (Finance, IT, HR); fundraising/resource development;
partnerships and community engagement; and strategic planning. The
Executive Director oversees a dedicated and passionate team of
professionals that includes a Development Director, Development
Assistant, Program Director, Assistant Program Director, and
Property Manager.
The next Executive Director will have a long-range perspective and
be a strategic thinker with creative vision who is open to change.
The Executive Director leads with vision, acts with integrity, and
is an inspirational advocate for social justice.
PRIORITIES
The long tenured and effective Executive Director of 12 years
departed Bethany Hill Place in March 2022. An interim executive
director has been in place since the spring and is leading the
organization through the transition and search period. Immediate
priorities for the permanent Executive Director are to build
relationships with staff and residents, ensure a smooth transition
for the organization, and engage with the community as a way of
introduction. Long-term key priorities include:
Develop and execute a strategic plan
Lead Bethany Hill Place in a strategic planning process that will
guide the organization toward greater capacity and sustainability
to carry out mission and vision.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners
Grow and nurture active involvement and leadership in the community
and advance the conversation on housing and supportive services,
developing Bethany Hill Place as a local leader on housing
issues.
Staff management and development
Support the continued retention and development of staff,
resources, infrastructure and training; increase collaboration and
integration; develop policies and procedures to increase
impact.
Board governance and development
In partnership with the Bethany Hill Place Board of Trustees,
establish nonprofit practices/structures to grow the organization
and build organizational financial independence and sustainability
with a continued commitment to intentionally developing diversity
equity and inclusion priorities.
Diversify funding
In partnership with the development director, build funder and
donor relationships to forge collaborative partnerships that
connect and grow the donor base. Create an organizational vision
and provide strategic guidance that brings to life the work of
Bethany Hill Place in a clear and compelling manner.

The Executive Director role is full time and located in Framingham,
MA. An on-site/in person presence is required with some flexibility
for hybrid work. Salary is commensurate with relevant experience
and competitive in the field, within the framework of the
organization's annual operating budget.
