Description SUMMARY This position will be responsible for the
administration and management of the company's Safety programs in
accordance with federal and local laws and regulations; serves to
prevent, minimize, and correct accident and injuries, as well as
addressing safety problems as they affect the corporation.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable government regulations, safety
compliance and industrial hygiene
- Business acumen, strong analytical skills, and strategic
- Understanding of organizational behavior, communication skills,
the ability to influence, ability to work on a team, and the
ability to influence positively
- Electrical safety working knowledge
- 5 years of safety working experience in the Heavy
- OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry, CHST,
and/or Certified Safety Professional certification
- Self-motivated, team focused professional
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and industry related
professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety
Professional), CHST (Certified Health & Safety Technician), or CIH
(Certified Industrial Hygienist) are strongly preferred Job
Summary: Develops, implements, and manages programs meant to
protect employee health and safety, or promote environmental
compliance. Job Duties: Oversees development of policies and
programs meant to mitigate organizational impact on the environment
or protect employees from health and safety risks found in the
organization. Establishes guidelines governing the collection and
maintenance of employee training records, health/safety manuals or
handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation.
Audits facilities or processes to identify weaknesses or risks and
proactively develops and implements corrective actions; ensures
appropriate investigation of and response to accidents or injuries.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, or local statues
or regulations including OSHA. Experience and Education:
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and
practices. Performs complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of
other employees. Has full authority for personnel decisions and may
have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and
procedural change. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 6 or
more years of experience. Reports to: Typically reports to a
department head or director. Competencies: Leadership skills.
