About the Role Amazon Robotics is revolutionizing warehouse
automation at unprecedented scale. We're seeking a Senior Software
Engineer to join our Mobile Manipulation team, where you'll
architect and build next-generation robotic systems that seamlessly
combine autonomous navigation with sophisticated manipulation
capabilities. This role offers the unique opportunity to solve
complex technical challenges while directly impacting Amazon's
global fulfillment network. What You'll Do As a Senior Software
Engineer in Mobile Manipulation, you'll own critical components of
our robotic systems that enable robots to navigate dynamic
warehouse environments while performing complex manipulation tasks.
You'll work at the intersection of motion planning, perception, and
control systems to create adaptable automation solutions that work
safely alongside human associates. Key job responsibilities -
Design and implement robust motion planning algorithms for
collision-free navigation and manipulation using industry-standard
frameworks (MoveIt, OMPL) - Develop vision-guided manipulation
systems integrating object detection, pose estimation, and
real-time scene understanding - Architect high-level behavior
management systems using Behavior Trees or Finite State Machines to
orchestrate complex multi-step workflows - Build and maintain
simulation environments for rapid prototyping and validation before
hardware deployment - Collaborate with cross-functional teams
including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and robotics
scientists to integrate software with sensors (LiDAR, cameras,
depth sensors) and actuators - Drive technical decisions on system
architecture, algorithm selection, and software design patterns -
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical standards

Robotics develops and deploys advanced robotic systems that power
Amazon's fulfillment centers worldwide. Our innovations in mobile
manipulation, autonomous navigation, and human-robot collaboration
are transforming how products move through our network, enabling
faster delivery times while creating safer, more ergonomic work
environments for our associates. - 5 years of non-internship
professional software development experience - 5 years of
programming with at least one software programming language
experience - 5 years of leading design or architecture (design
patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an
engineering team - Experience with robotics middleware (ROS/ROS2) -
Solid understanding of motion planning, kinematics, and control
theory - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Robotics,
Electrical Engineering, or related field - Experience with machine
vision programming (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) - Knowledge of one or
more ML Frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and ML methods
including NLP models (BERT, GPT-2/3), computer vision-based models
(object detection, image recognition), and text-based models
(Seq2Seq, Topic modeling) - Experience developing and testing
mechanical robotics equipment - Master's degree or above in
Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics,
Mathematics, or related fields, or PhD - Experience with deep
learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, MxNet Research
publications in computer vision, deep learning or machine learning
at peer-reviewed workshops, conferences or journals - Familiarity
with simulation tools (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) Amazon is an

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers
