Power (RAP) department at Raytheon is seeking a skilled and
motivated Principal Electronics Technician to support our
laboratory operations. In this role, you will be responsible for
testing, documenting, and troubleshooting Naval analog and power
electronics, assemblies, and high voltage transmitter systems,
including Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs). This hardware serves various
critical functions, with applications ranging from RF systems to
high-voltage and high-current systems. The ideal candidate is a
self-starter, capable of working independently, and is committed to
deepening their advanced expertise in analog and power electronics.
RAP is responsible for design engineering, including the following
areas Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation
and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High
Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators Power Conversion - AC/DC,
DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor
Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits,
Synchronization, Noise Controls Power Distribution - Ground, Air,
Naval Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High
Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power
Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant
Systems Power Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI,
Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short
Circuit and Stress Analyses Control Systems – Servo Control
Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems,
Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms
This position is an on-site role. Full-time position with a minimum
of 40 hours per week. What You Will do Work closely with
engineering teams in both lab and field environments supporting
Naval RF, power products including supporting legacy products.
Various facets of testing, presenting technical data to engineers
for review. Work with a variety of test equipment including
spectrum analyzers, RF Power meters, high and low voltage power
sources AC/DC. Monitor and document test results, equipment
performance, anomalies for engineering review and quality
assurance. Support integration activities, including system-level
testing and troubleshooting. Develop, update, and maintain
documentation, including schematics, specifications, work
instructions, and other job aids, ensuring accuracy to support
project requirements Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
on transmitter systems and related components. Engage in personal
technical growth, and facilitate technical growth of junior
engineers and technicians Maintain a clean, organized, and safe
work environment by adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring
compliance to regulatory safety standards. Travel to Marlborough,
MA; Tewksbury, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may
be required depending on the assignment. Travel, including CONUS,
OCONUS, and at-sea assignments. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires Bachelors degree in Science, Technology,
Engineer or Mathematics and a minimum of 8 years of relevant
experience OR an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Electronics
Engineering Technology with 10 years of relevant experience OR in
the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of relevant
experience in electronics hardware fabrication, breadboarding,
testing, troubleshooting, and interpreting technical documentation
Experience with high voltage electronics that support Traveling
Wave Tube (TWTs) transmitter systems and experience with the safety
issues working with high voltage systems as a requirement.
Experience using a variety of power and digital test equipment to
verify electronics performance, including oscilloscopes, spectrum
analyzers, RF power probes/meters, function generators, and AC/DC
power sources. Qualifications We Prefer Experienced working with RF
electronic components and RF waveguides. Experience with
installation and operation of AEGIS Naval transmitter systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics Hands-on experience with
AC/DC high voltage and high current electronics Experience working
with 10kV or greater Strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude Ability to
write detailed test reports Proven experience working as part of a
larger, multidisciplinary team. Experience working in engineering
and manufacturing environments Experience troubleshooting/servicing
field equipment Excellent written and verbal communication

107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good
faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX
