culture. Structural Assembly is where the major components of the
aircraft get built. This means drilling, fastening, and bonding
parts together to build the wing, fuselage, empennage, and booms,
then joining them together to produce the airframe. As a
Manufacturing Engineer working within the Structural Assembly team,
you will be supporting airframe assembly on the weekend shift and
driving process and design improvements to decrease cycle time,
labor hours, and non-conformances. How you will contribute to
revolutionizing electric aviation: A Manufacturing Engineer is the
link between Engineering and Production and has the role of
defining and implementing assembly/installation methods to produce
complex assemblies and complete aircraft Plan, create, and improve
work instructions to integrate engineering design requirements of
structural, system, and experimental components into production in
an optimal assembly sequence Use FMEA & DOE techniques to determine
root cause and execute corrective actions of manufacturing process
problems, workmanship defects, test failures, etc. Develop,
configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to
start-up and certification Use Lean Six Sigma tools to drive
continuous product improvements, integrate automation solutions,
and increase yield Generate manufacturing assembly documentation
and provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution
of manufacturing, inspection, and test operations Design and
implement manufacturing aids and tools to assist with precision
locating, drilling, fastening, and bonding of structures Active
participation in program scheduling, to coordinate production
timelines and identify critical path items Minimum Qualifications:
Highly motivated to expedite and improve aircraft production
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Hands-on
experience building and fixing things Strong communication skills
(verbal and written) Experience working with cross-functional teams
(production, design, quality, supply chain, certification,
manufacturing) Flexibility and comfort in working in a quickly
changing environment Direct experience working in manufacturing
Experience with CAD design - 3DX/CATIA preferred Experience with
ERP system tools – PLEX will be considered an asset Above and
Beyond Qualifications: Experience as a manufacturing engineer
performing lineside support, creating work instructions, defining
assembly processes, and designing tools Adept at interpreting and
understanding engineering documentation, such as drawings and
specifications Adept understanding of GD&T Adept at
interpreting and understanding quality documentation and
requirements Knowledgeable with ASTM, AS/ISO9001, and Type Cert
Aircraft processes Understanding of design for assembly, lean
manufacturing, and capacity planning techniques Experience working
with composite and aluminum structures Experience working with
large vehicles or structures Experience working with process heavy
techniques such as bonding Knowledge of manual/automated drilling
techniques, tooling, robotics, and hardware Knowledge of aircraft
structures, systems, or interiors Weekend Schedule & Hours This
position follows a weekend shift schedule, working Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday Shifts are 12 hours each day, totaling 36
hours per week This role is a full-time position The wage listed
