Job Description:

J.F. White seeks hard working and highly motivated candidates to work in our estimating or mechanical departments and on our jobsites preparing cost estimates and managing large-scale heavy-civil or mechanical construction projects. Candidates are responsible for housing and for transportation to and from their assigned location in the Boston area. The typical estimating responsibilities include:--- reading project plans to prepare quantity takeoff.--- evaluating operational means and methods.--- assembling data and preparing graphics to support cost estimates.--- participating in estimate team coordination meetings.--- making site visits to verify, quantify, or photo document existing site conditions.--- soliciting pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors. The typical jobsite responsibilities during field position assignments include:--- participating in weekly safety meetings.--- safety training with the job team.--- participation in weekly planning and scheduling sessions with the job team.--- quantity tracking.--- cost tracking.--- Construction material management.--- monitoring submittals and preparing materials submittal documents.--- Labor cost tracking and management.--- photo documenting field conditions.--- survey layout.--- preparing and logging transmittals.--- activity progress reporting and schedule reporting.--- preparing documentation and reporting environmental conditions.--- communicate with material suppliers and subcontractors. Requirements Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering Proficiency with MS Office programs
