POSITION SUMMARYDPS Group's Boston office is the DPS global center of excellence for advanced therapeutic manufacturing facilities. Over the past few years, the DPS Process Engineering department has seen significant growth both in size and our skillset, executing novel cell and gene therapy projects that include state of the art mRNA, oligonucleotide, and viral vector facilities. Additionally, DPS has current projects in the food, small molecule (API), microbiome, chemical industries. DPS provides full EPCMV (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Validation) services for its clients. -This position is a part of a larger team that provides Process Engineering and design support to the Boston areas constantly growing life sciences industry. -A successful candidate in this role will work directly with a cross functional DPS team including industry subject matter experts and the client to evaluate novel manufacturing processes, equipment, and facility requirements from early concept development through construction and start-up. Applicants should have 8 or more years' experience, preferably in support of cGMP processes or design. Successful applicants will be not only technically savvy and able to think quickly on their feet to solve new Engineering problems but will be able to manage small engineering teams of 2-4 individuals in the successful execution small to mid-size projects. -KEY RESPONSIBILITIES --- - - - - - -Provide engineering leadership to DPS clients projects and competently engage others in technical discussions --- - - - - - -Works as a contributor, reviewer, and mentor to junior engineers on projects where another project lead has been assigned --- - - - - - -Works as the project lead for some projects, responsible for the quality, technical accuracy, and timeliness of process deliverables for the project team --- - - - - - -Accountability for generation of Mass Balance, PFD, P&ID based on client process input --- - - - - - -Conduct process modeling and throughput analysis --- - - - - - -Develop engineering calculations based on published sources --- - - - - - -Coordinate design activities with other DPS Architecture and Engineering disciplines --- - - - - - -Coordinate construction activities at a high level; manage Technical Bid Analysis, Submittals, RFI, vendor activities, and field inspections --- - - - - - -Support business development through hours estimates, proposals, and attendance at business development meetings --- - - - - - -Develop personal expertise in the industry through research and event attendance. --- - - - - - -Publish and present technical work to industry --- - - - - - -Provide consultation and direction to DPS disciplines, PM's and business development on areas of expertise. -EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE --- - - - - - -Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent engineering degree with relevant experience) --- - - - - - -8+ years' Process Engineering experience, preferably supporting cGMP Biomanufacturing Facility operation and or design. Experience with API, cell culture, Cell and Gene Therapy, and other therapeutic platforms is desired, but not required. --- - - - - - -Design background is preferred, specifically in the development of design deliverables to support construction of new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities --- - - - - - -Advanced knowledge of complex unit operations --- - - - - - -Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, at times with remote locations, possible. --- - - - - - -Maintain excellent attention to detail, possess organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills --- - - - - - -Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines. --- - - - - - -Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and team building skills --- - - - - - -Experience managing small projects and/or external clients --- - - - - - -Experience presenting to an audience is a plus.
