We are seeking a passionate and highly experienced Protein
Designer to join our Protein Engineering group within Sanofi US
Large Molecule Research (LMR) Department. Protein Engineering group
has a great track record of patent and publication in the areas of
Fc engineering and multispecific antibodies. We have a state-of-art
structure biology capability within the group, offering a unique
opportunity to collaborate closely on Protein Engineering projects.
This Lab Head (Senior Principal Scientist) position will lead a
small team of scientists to work closely within a dynamic,
fast-paced and highly collaborative environment of Protein
Engineering group. The successful candidate should be an expert in
creatively applying structure-guided design principles to diverse
therapeutic biologics modalities to engineer molecular formats or
attributes, such as affinity, activity or developability. Previous
experience in designing multispecific/multivalent antibody formats
and Fc-engineered fusion molecules in the Oncology, Immuno-Oncology
or Immunology & Inflammation therapeutic area is required. S/he
must have deep understanding of protein science to provide
technical insights and strategies to characterize and interpret
biochemical, biophysical and functional attributes of engineered
biologics. In addition, s/he will represent LMR Department in
cross-functional project teams to identify opportunities in
discovery biology enabled by protein engineering and provide the
strategy. Previous experience in project and people management is
required. Previous experience in Genedata Biologics strongly
preferred. Strong interest or experience in other areas of protein
engineering, such as glycoengineering and chemical conjugation, or
in the area of computational biology , such as in silico structure
modeling and analysis, machine learning and de novo design, will be
preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and engineer bi-specific and
multi-specific antibody-based therapeutics and fusion proteins
through structure-based design, with the focus on Oncology,
Immuno-oncology and Immunology & InflammationProvide technical
strategy and insights to screen and analyze the engineered
biotherapeutics for improved biological properties, biochemical and
biophysical characteristicsActively interact with Therapeutic Area
project teams to identify and provide a protein engineering
strategy and lead the effortRepresent Large Molecule Research (LMR)
