Job Description:
Duties: Manage profitability for Emerging Categories. Develop
growth strategies for U.S. investments and emerging categories. Analyze
trends and conduct deep-dives of category performance. Understand
competitive dynamics and positioning. Develop hypotheses and test new
pricing strategies, model sales and margin impact, outline
operational initiatives, and work with cross-functional teams to optimize
and execute on the path to profitability for growth areas of the
Wayfair business. Develop the strategic path to profitability for
emerging categories and new investments. Work closely with category
management, operations, marketing, and engineering to develop a deep
understanding of category dynamics. Engage with various internal business
partners to align priorities, develop strategic plans, and measure
performance improvements. Identify opportunities to accelerate growth and
build tools to analyze and test new pricing strategies. Monitor
operational and financial performance data to spot trends in the business
and ensure competitive position and health of the business. Interface with
cross- functional teams, Operations, Category Management,
Marketing, Merchandizing, and QA teams to optimize the performance of our
dynamic pricing system. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics,
Statistics, Business, Engineering or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years’ experience creating,
testing and optimizing predictive algorithms for retail pricing. One
year of experience must include: Identifying operational process
improvement opportunities and driving concurrent improvements in people,
process and technology; Creating strategic roadmaps for growth and
managing implementation against deadlines and milestones; Leading
development of Big Data Analytics solutions leveraging the latest data
analysis techniques (including machine learning) for large quantities
of structured and unstructured data; Developing business cases
and financial strategy for product development, including defining
business goals, creating executions steps, and analyzing business
return; Reporting on business case analysis and revenue analysis using
Excel and SQL; Performing experimental design and hypothesis testing
including A/B testing and multivariate testing (MVT); Building predictive
models, using historical data to predict target markets, customer
segments, messaging and spending; Evaluating of predictive models
including ROI analysis and back testing on historical data for evaluating
future predictions; Developing and executing advanced mathematical
and economics tests such as two dimensional modeling and A/B
